Disaster was a disaster!

Miles and Taryn Herman reached out to me while I was in the middle of rehearsals for Carousel with Good Theater telling me that they were going to lead the creative team for Disaster! at the Rochester Opera House in NH.

They told me, “you’d be perfect for Chad.”

“I can’t see anyone else doing it.”

“We need John Furey in this role.”

How could I say no?

What followed was an intense, 10-day (yeah you heard that right) rehearsal process into opening the show. This was a really tough experience for me not due to the material or the time constraint of the project, but actually due to some harassment I received from a co-star. However, the support I received from my fellow cast-mates really helped me push through. These incredibly talented individuals: Michelle Faria, Jamie Bradley, Amanda Dane, and Kevin Mahaney (and of course Taryn and Miles) are NH locals that I had forged close bonds with during our time on Rock of Ages back in 2017. So much love for them and their craft.
